SIALF aims to promote research in acarology by exchanges of information among French-speaking members, to support growth of scientists and development of acarology, and to initialize publications of applied or fundamental research.. SIALF holds an annual meeting. It also publishes a newsletter providing information to members. The Society also organizes the "International Courses of Acarology" regularly. Membership costs are 100 FF per year.
