- A behind the scenes tour of the spirit collection (animals preserved in spirit) and its 22 million specimens featuring such highlights as Archie the giant squid and Darwin's pet octopus.
- A facilitated group discussion with a Museum scientist who will discuss their cutting-edge research using modern scientific techniques, then open the floor to questions to develop students’ scientific knowledge, ignite their curiosity about the natural world and give them an insight into working scientifically, and appreciate the relevance of science to their everyday lives.
- Free time to explore the Museum, including the Darwin Centre's Cocoon, which shows how our scientists use the collections to help understand the natural world and protect biodiversity.

Session times and duration
The Spirit Collection Tours run between 10.30 and 13.00 and last for 30 minutes. When you book, the team will arrange a time for your tour and reserve a spot for lunch in the picnic area. Each tour takes a maximum of 10 students, so larger school groups will be split into different time slots.
