Investigate how teeth are related to diet in this interactive workshop.

Students will:

  • recognise names, shapes, positions and functions of different human teeth
  • handle, observe and compare a variety of mammal skulls, including real ones, to predict animal diets
  • use and develop students' scientific knowledge to understand how animal teeth are useful for different purposes (diet, defence, etc)
  • compare mammals' teeth to dinosaurs' and make predictions on dinosaur diets based on evidence 

Learning themes: teeth and eating, using observations to draw conclusions, using scientific knowledge and understanding to explain observations, making comparisons and identifying associations
