There's a lot more to insects than meets the eye.
To celebrate National Insect Week, the Museum is decking out the Orange Zone with some of the millions of specimens from our collections and inviting visitors to meet our researchers, take part in activities and find out exactly why insects are so fascinating.
Discover the extraordinary diversity of insects around world and why they are important to us.
- Meet curators and explore stunning specimens from our creepy crawly collections. Learn about insect lifecycles and ecology, and hear how we preserve and research nature's wonders.
- Join our experts in the Museum's Wildlife Garden for a look at what insects can be found in ponds, and hunt for flying insects in the meadow habitat.
- Get hands-on with real insect specimens, test your identification skills, and play our 'what bug are you?' game.
- Insects carry out some very important jobs, but which role is right for you? Join our experts to hear your options at our Insect Careers Fair Nature Live talk at 15.00 in the Attenborough Studio.
