Join us for a new season of out-of-this-world sci-fi adventures on the big screen at Movie Nights at the Museum.

See your science fiction favourites on the big screen with Movie Nights at the Museum, in partnership with Time Out. 

See some of the iconic galleries after hours and free from the crowds, before settling in for an evening of cinema.

Prepare to be thrilled with heart-warming classics, dystopian adventures, terrifying alien encounters and a journey through the vastness of space.

Take a seat in Hintze Hall under Hope the blue whale, grab a drink or snack at the bar and settle in for some sci-fi action with Movie Nights at the Museum. 

Please note that Movie Nights is an event for those aged 18 and over.

Star Trek (2009)

This is the film that rebooted the Star Trek franchise. James T Kirk is a rebellious young officer in the Starfleet. When the Romulans once again threaten the Federation, he and his fellow officer, Spock, must defeat a vengeful captain Nero.

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

After an act of terror is launched from inside their organisation, the starship Enterprise returns to Earth. A determined Captain Kirk launches a mission to hunt down those responsible and bring them to justice.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

The future looks bleak for the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire when they discover the existence of a terrible new weapon, the Death Star. But there is still hope. The daughter of an Imperial scientist, Jyn, joins the Rebel Alliance in a daring plot to uncover the Death Star plans.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Thirty years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire and the destruction of the second Death Star, the New Republic is under threat. When Rey, a scavenger from the planet Jakku, encounters a BB-8 droid and runaway stormtrooper, they become embroiled in a race to discover the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker.

Bookings are required. No refunds or exchanges will be given.

The event will begin promptly. We cannot allow you to join the event after it has commenced and no refunds will be given to latecomers.

The galleries that will be open for guests to visit before the movie starts will be the Mammals gallery and the Dinosaurs gallery.
