After-hours at the Museum

Enjoy exhibitions, talks, science demos, food and drinks by night on the last Friday of the month.

Free entry, with some paid activities. 

This month at Lates explore the different ways that science and nature can and has been shared with the world over the generations.

From television to poetry, animation to photography, come and discover how people engage with science and the natural world from early victorian naturalists to the latest citizen science.

Don Paterson Live

Don will be debuting his latest work, themed on nature and science, live at the Museum.

Behind the Lens

Hear from young photographer Josh Burch about how he is using his images to inspire others about the natural world and the importance of conservation.

Magic Lantern demonstration

Come and experience a magic lantern show, a widespread spectacle in Victorian England.

Animating nature

Join animator Sydney Padua for a demonstration of her art and test out your own drawing skills.

Fabulous food and drink

Find fantastic hot meals in The Kitchen and enjoy cocktails, wine, pale ale, lager and soft drinks and snacks at the bars in North Hall and Fossil Marine Reptiles.
