UK Student Summit 2010

From 5 - 8 July 2010 students will gather at the Natural History Museum for the UK Student Summit. This year the summit will focus on biodiversity, as part of the International Year of Biodiversity 2010.

Please note that places at the UK Student Summit 2010 are fully booked.

Our fate depends on biodiversity – the huge variety of other animals and plants all over the world, the places they live and their surrounding environments. We rely on the diversity of life to provide us with food, fuel, medicine and other essentials.

However, the UN Convention on Biological Diversity has just confirmed that it has failed to meet its target to reverse the global losses in biodiversity. All the signatory countries will meet in autumn 2010 to set new targets for the decade ahead.

At the UK Student Summit, 15 experts will speak about how we can understand biodiversity, how we can make the right decisions to preserve it and what effect climate change will have.
