Learn about techniques that Museum scientists use to find out more about the natural world.

This activity has curriculum links appropriate for KS3, KS4 and post-16 students. Also suitable for adults and families with children aged 12 years and over.

Experience two techniques that our scientists use behind the scenes. Both themes involve looking at real specimens, and learning how specialised equipment is used to study them.

Find out about molecular techniques such as DNA barcoding and explore real scanning electron microscope images.
