Wollaton Hall, a splendid Tudor Mansion, sits in 500 acres of deer park and is the home of Nottingham City Museums & Galleries' natural history collection.
The collection contains over 750,000 specimens of geology, botany and zoology. These include a huge handling collection which gives students a chance to really see and understand the objects they are studying.
Outside of the Hall the grounds, woods and lake contain significant habitats for wildlife and provide an excellent opportunity for pupil exploration of the natural world.
Over the next 12 months we will be working with our new partners to develop two secondary sessions: The Colour of Nature for KS3 pupils and a human evolution workshop for KS4 pupils. These sessions will enable us to use our existing collections in a new, dynamic way as well as introducing new specimens and equipment into our programmes.
As these programmes are developed information will be added onto the Learning web pages on our website.
