Leeds Museums and Galleries is one of the UK’s major museum services. Our collections total some 1.3 million items spread across 9 sites. We were recently awarded Arts Council England Major Partner status and are thrilled to be part of Real World Science.
Joining the partnership means we can marry the very best in scientific research with our Designated Collections and use them to inspire and engage the next generation of scientists. Collaborating with our regional partners and the Natural History Museum we hope to inspire innovative ideas, raise standards of science teaching and create high quality learning experiences for the young people of Leeds.
We intend to begin running The Colour of Nature sessions in late 2012 and we are working with a local specialist science academy to develop pilot sessions for our programme on human evolution, which we hope to be running in the spring.
