Myths and Monsters

Created with Museum zoologists, Myths and Monsters explores popular myths and legends from ancient history, Greek mythology and storytelling using astonishing animatronic models, specimens and photography.

A specimen case

Fascinating graphic panels, intriguing specimen cases and life-size animatronics bring to life our best-known ancient myths and offer plausible scientific explanations for them.

This family blockbuster exhibition requires approximately 450 square metres of gallery space and features 5 impressive animatronic models (a dragon, a chimera, a yeti, a cyclops and an alien), and one graceful static model of a unicorn.

Graphic panels tell stories of the giant roc, mysterious sea creatures and more.
