"The remarkable and often surprising story of one of London's most popular museums. It reveals the controversies and intrigues behind its progress, and brings alive the succession of gifted, strong minded, and often argumentative men to whom the Natural History Museum owes its being, its public utility and international renown. The book is extremely well illustrated throughout with photographs, and as well as being an authoritative history it makes interesting and entertaining reading. "
