Each species entry is accompanied by geographical distribution details listing countries recorded, together with specification of the type locality country and of more refined information, such as region, state, province, for countries of large size, diverse biomes, or island units. Significant misidentifications are given, linked to their correct species, and important misspellings of names are also included.
