Ruth Champion

Ruth was recruited to join the Planning and Design Consulting team in September 2005 as the Systems and Operations Manager, with primary responsibility for delivery and installation of the Kokoro animatronic dinosaurs for the Restless Planet project in Dubai.

Acting as lead project manager Ruth coordinates with scientific advisors, the manufacturers, and the design and delivery team on this major project as well as with other animatronic sales projects. Ruth also manages the financial and operational administration of the Planning and Design Consulting department.

Since 1984, Ruth has had various responsibilities within the Museum from science to exhibition departments. From 1991 until 2005 she acted as Operations Manager for the Touring exhibitions department where she project-managed the delivery, installation, and technical support for more than 250 exhibitions (including set-works, animatronics and specimens) which travelled throughout Europe, the Middle East and the United States. As key liaison with clients once a contract was established, Ruth also provided all incoming/outgoing logistical planning and exhibition support.
