Museum lights up to celebrate birth of royal baby

23 July 2013

The Natural History Museum is delighted to celebrate the birth of HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby boy.

To mark this exciting occasion, the Museum will light up its iconic Waterhouse building for three nights in blue. Visitors will be able to see the dramatic transformation at sunset each day.

Museum director, Dr Michael Dixon, said, ‘Following the announcement earlier this year that The Duchess has chosen to be the Patron for the Natural History Museum, we are overjoyed to receive news of the Royal birth. I send The Duke and Duchess my best wishes and I am very much looking forward to welcoming another member of the Royal Family to the Museum.’

The Duchess of Cambridge announced her patronage of the Museum in April 2013.
