Vote for your favourite Attenborough moment

15 April 2006

To celebrate the eightieth birthday of one of television's most iconic presenters, UKTV launches My Favourite Attenborough Moment, in tribute to Sir David Attenborough.

Sir David Attenborough sits with the mountain gorillas in the television series Life on Earth.

Over three weeks in April, the UKTV Documentary channel will be showing clips from more than 50 years of Sir David's pioneering natural history programmes.

Viewers can vote for their favourite Attenborough moment from 20 best clips that will be shown on 15 April.

Famous guests such as Joanna Lumley, Bill Oddie, Alan Titchmarsh, Ray Mears and Björk will introduce the clips.

Joanna Lumley chose the moment where Sir David Attenborough patiently waits for cave elephants to join him in front of the camera in Life of Mammals.  A Life on Earth clip where Sir David Attenborough gets close to mountain gorillas wins the vote of Goodness Gracious Me's Sanjeev Bhaskar.

Find out how you can vote at www.uktv.co.uk/attenborough . The 20 best clips will be announced on 7 May.
