Our Ten Year Vision

The Natural History Museum is one of three leading natural history museums in the world.

During the next ten years we will...
  • build upon our ability to generate knowledge and understanding of the natural world
  • communicate this knowledge to a larger and broader audience
  • strengthen our position as one of the UK's top visitor attractions

  • In achieving these goals we will specifically...
  • set world standards in collections conservation and management
  • be a focus for informed public debate around relevant issues of the day
  • increase public understanding of systematics and its importance, and help revitalize systematics training

  • To deliver the vision it is essential that we...
  • increase revenue generation
  • preserve our buildings and estates
  • become an organization that works better together to achieve these goals

  • The Darwin Centre will be central to the delivery of this vision.
Working as a team, every member of the Natural History Museum staff can help make this vision a reality.
