Accessing Collections Information

The Museum is playing a prominent role in BioCASE (Biological Collection Access Service for Europe). This ambitious project aims to link Europe's biological collections together and open them up to coordinated internet access. Scientists and members of the public will then be able to search for information across European national collections via a single, user- friendly web interface. No fewer than 35 institutions are collaborating in the initiative, which is backed by substantial EU funding. The BioCASE concept is being piloted in another multi- partner initiative, ENHSIN (European Natural History Specimen Information Network), which the Museum is coordinating.
