Exploring Biodiversity

Exploring Biodiversity website
The Museum's new Exploring Biodiversity website was launched in Spring 2002 to an enthusiastic welcome from teachers. Intended mainly for GCSE and A-level students, it introduces the concept of biodiversity through an interactive learning approach which uses authentic scientific data. For example, users can investigate different ways of measuring biodiversity, select and compare the floras of different postal districts, and download the UK version of the Museum's WorldMap software to explore UK biodiversity patterns.

Exploring Biodiversity was developed by the Museum's education and science staff, working in collaboration with the conservation charity Flora-for-Fauna, with funding from The Nuffield Foundation.
