The Touring Exhibitions programme is a significant source of revenue for the Museum – turnover amounted to 1.1 million in the financial year, an increase of 19 per cent. In addition to the six full-scale exhibitions that toured nine countries during the year, several smaller exhibits went on display at venues in the UK or were hired by film studios. A four-year business plan with the Japanese company Kokoro is now in place, with the aim of generating further revenue through the sale of animatronic models to the leisure industry and to museums and science centres.
