Joseph Wolf Capturing the Moment
Joseph Wolf exhibition
27 May – 24 September 2001

The talented Victorian artist Joseph Wolf is often considered to have been the first artist to depict animals in their own habitats, capturing their moods and behaviours. Most of his pictures are in private collections and are rarely seen in public – this exhibition brought together a broad selection of over 100 of his most beautiful watercolours, drawings, oil paintings and lithographs.
