Borehole beneath the Wildlife Garden.
The borehole beneath the Wildlife Garden.
The Museum has joined the Government's UK Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme, committing to a 1,000 tonne reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 2007. Electricity supply is now obtained from renewable sources, and since 1997 water for the laboratories and washrooms has been pumped directly from a borehole beneath the Wildlife Garden.
