Enterprising

How we are developing new ways of funding our work

National museum, scientific institution, visitor attraction, centre for learning… the Museum is all of these things. But there is something else that we do – we are a business, one that generates substantial revenues and has a positive
impact on the UK economy.

Government grant-in-aid alone is not enough to support all our science and public engagement work. So we have become an enterprising organisation, one that is alert to new opportunities and focused on improving its revenue streams.
