Tenison was made an Honorary Associate of the Museum in 1951. For many years he had an office in the Bird Section where he edited the Aves Section of the Zoological Record, taking over from W L Sclater. He passed on to the Bird Section the thousands of bird papers sent in to the Zoological Record. See entry in Who's Who.
