One woman is sitting down by the roadside with her left arm and hand resting on her chin. The other woman is standing in front of the two men wearing a cap and apron. A pitcher and milk pail are by her side.The two men are standing by or leaning on a tree on the left hand side of the picture. Both men are wearing hats, and carrying fishing rods. The man on the left has a small basket (for fish?) at his waist. The print has been cut from a publication and undernath is printed "The Milkmaild's Song", John Absolon.
