Bird Section and Vertebrata Correspondence This series consists primarily of the correspondence of successive curators of birds, and later departmental correspondence from the Bird Section. The correspondence deals with accessions to the collections, the loan and exchange of specimens, collecting expeditions, Museum and other publications, and general scientific and popular enquiries. Because Richard Bowdler Sharpe was also in charge of the Vertebrate section, early volumes contain a certain amount of general vertebrate correspondence and are bound with the title 'Letters. Vertebrata'. Correspondence appears to have mainly been answered by the person responsible for managing the Bird Section at the time. 1883-1997
