Head of Library's Correspondence This series contains the correspondence of successive heads of the General Library. Little correspondence survives from the years before 1946, and it appears to be only from 1963 that general correspondence was filed and preserved as a matter of policy. Letters in DF600/3-6 are concerned with exchanges for the period 1946-1955; those in DF600/ 7-26 relate to the donation, purchase and exchange of items for the collection, bibliographical enquiries from members of the public, loans for exhibitions, accommodation and equipment. 1900-1984
